My Story

Courageous, determined, selfless and inspiring is what my little sister, Dainere Anthoney, was. In her short 15 years of life she achieved so many things. In 2009 Dainere was diagnosed a cancerous brain tumour called Medulloblastoma, which changed her life forever. Dainere kept a blog of her journey through this which was published into a book called "You Have To Go Through A Storm To Get To A Rainbow" which I now, since after turning 18, have got tattooed on my arm to honour her and in memor...

In 2009 Dainere was diagnosed a cancerous brain tumour called Medulloblastoma, which changed her life forever. Dainere kept a blog of her journey through this which was published into a book called "You Have To Go Through A Storm To Get To A Rainbow" which I now, since after turning 18, have got tattooed on my arm to honour her and in memory of her. The tumour relapsed in her spine in 2012 and was deemed inoperable and incurable, and this took her life in June last year. Paediatric brain tumours are severely unknown and underfunded and this needs to change so no one has to face the battles Dainere did. Fundraising for this reason was Dainere's passion, and I wish to continue this as a legacy for her. Any donation will be amazing, no matter how big or small. GO TEAM DAINERE'S RAINBOW

Dainere was the most courageous, selfless and inspiring young person you could ever meet, she worked passionately and tirelessly during her short life to raise awareness and funds for paediatric brain tumours. Her greatest wish in life was that no children in the future would have to suffer as she did and that one day a cure for this horrendous disease will be found.

Dainere's Rainbow Brain Tumour Research Fund was established in conjunction with The Sydney Children's Hospital Foundation to assist the research team lead by Dr David Ziegler; research will be undertaken on three research projects as part of Dainere's Fund.
