My Story

This morning when I ran around the lake it was negative 3.  NEGATIVE 3 PEOPLE!  Add to this that I am by no means a runner.  One of my friends calls me "Short and Stumpy" – these little legs don’t move very fast.  All in all, this City 2 Surf thing is hard.
But other people are doing it way harder.  So to at least help them out a little, I am running to support Dainere's Rainbow Team.
The Anthony family, inspired by courageous Dainere have raised thousands to support research on brain tumours.  They are truly one of Canberra’s most selfless and passionate families.
I am hoping that through this year’s City 2 Surf I can contribute to their cause and help them get a step closer to ensuring that other children do not have to suffer like Dainere did.

Dainere was the most courageous, selfless and inspiring young person you could ever meet, she worked passionately and tirelessly during her short life to raise awareness and funds for paediatric brain tumours. Her greatest wish in life was that no children in the future would have to suffer as she did and that one day a cure for this horrendous disease will be found.

Dainere's Rainbow Brain Tumour Research Fund was established in conjunction with The Sydney Children's Hospital Foundation to assist the research team lead by Dr David Ziegler; research will be undertaken on three research projects as part of Dainere's Fund.
